Does Heidi Health Integrate With Veradigm?

Heidi does not say, and on Veradigm the answer has a price attached, so it is worth pressing.

Veradigm publishes two access paths. Certified FHIR R4 APIs, with SMART App Launch, are available through a free Veradigm Connect open account. The proprietary Unity API runs on paid integrator memberships: Bronze at 49 US dollars a month through Platinum Plus at 2,499, with Gold or above required to test and go live with clients, a 3,500 dollar certification fee per submission, and an annual API call fee for each connected client site, per Veradigm's own subscription document. Reading a schedule is possible over FHIR. Writing a note into named encounter sections such as HPI and ROS is the kind of operation that usually needs Unity. Heidi's page mentions neither.

Which path Heidi uses tells you two things. It tells you what Heidi is paying per connected practice, and therefore what part of your Practice or Enterprise subscription is covering Veradigm's fee. And it tells you whether the integration is Veradigm certified. Applications on the Veradigm App Expo have either self reported as production ready or passed certification; we did not find a Heidi listing on the App Expo in September 2026, which means the integration currently rests on Heidi's statement and on reference customers. Ask Heidi directly: Unity or FHIR, which membership tier, and is it certified or self reported.

The client side is Heidi's own app, web or mobile, with the Veradigm patient list synced in. That is not a SMART launch inside the Veradigm chart; the clinician works in Heidi and the note arrives in Veradigm. It is a reasonable design and it is a second application. Per Heidi, the workflow is: the day's Veradigm appointments appear in Heidi; the clinician selects the patient, records the visit and reviews the generated note in Heidi; one click sends it to Veradigm, where it populates the named sections of the encounter. That is a genuine sectioned write back rather than a single text block, and it is more than several larger vendors offer on this platform.

Three things Heidi does not state, and which you should establish on your own build. Whether the pushed note lands as a draft the clinician signs in Veradigm or is already final. Whether discrete data, such as vitals or problems, is written into structured fields or into text within the section. And whether Practice Fusion, Veradigm's other ambulatory EHR, is covered; the page names only Veradigm EHR. Not published. Checked September 2026.

Compare that with Veradigm's own Ambient Scribe, which Veradigm enhanced in November 2025 with structured ICD-10 diagnosis code recommendations, multi language capture and care plan suggestions. Heidi's public material does not claim coding into Veradigm. For some practices that is a relief, because code suggestion belongs behind a compliance review anyway; for others it is a gap. • Business associate agreement with Heidi. Heidi is an Australian company with a US presence; confirm where US audio, transcripts and notes are stored, the retention period, whether your data trains shared models, and the subprocessors.
• Veradigm access. Which API, which tier, certified or self reported, and whether any Veradigm per site fee is passed through to you.
• Plan and seats. Practice or Enterprise plan for every clinician who will use the integration, and what happens to clinicians who stay on the free tier.
• Write back behaviour. Draft versus signed, text versus discrete, and what the Veradigm audit trail records as the author of a pushed note.
• Device policy. Capture is on a phone or laptop; mobile device management and lost device procedures now cover recorded encounters.
• Canadian sites. If you operate in Canada, provincial privacy and the college policies on AI scribes apply; Heidi's page explicitly covers Canada, so check the healthcare AI law checker for your province.

The access path and certification status, covered above, are the first gap and the one most specific to Veradigm.

Pricing is the second. Heidi publishes a free tier and named Clinician, Practice and Enterprise tiers without dollar amounts on the public page, and the Veradigm integration needs Practice or Enterprise. Not published. References are the third. Heidi is a fast growing company and Veradigm is not its largest market. Ask for two US Veradigm EHR practices, live on the integration for more than six months, in a specialty like yours, and ask them about push reliability and section mapping rather than note quality.

The fourth is the Altera question that applies to every Veradigm page. If your organisation runs Sunrise or TouchWorks, you are an Altera customer and Heidi's Veradigm integration is not about your system. Establish that first. The scribe comparison shows which vendors document which platforms.

• Does the integration use Veradigm's Unity API or the certified FHIR APIs, at which membership tier, and is it Veradigm certified or self reported?
• Is any Veradigm per site API fee passed through in our price?
• Does the pushed note land as draft or signed, and is any data written discretely?
• Is Practice Fusion covered, or Veradigm EHR only?
• Show us schedule sync and note push on our own Veradigm build in our templates.
• Per clinician price at Practice and Enterprise, minimum seats and term, renewal cap?
• Where are US audio and transcripts stored and for how long?
• Which two US Veradigm practices in our specialty can we call?

On Veradigm the scribe decision usually comes down to two options: the first party Ambient Scribe, with no integration risk and a diagnosis coding feature that needs governance, or Heidi, with a published but uncertified integration and a lighter footprint. Neither vendor will run that comparison for you, and the details that decide it, access path, write back behaviour, data residency and price at the tier you need, are exactly the ones not on the public pages.
